Migrants/Idomeni
The largest concentration of migrants at the time of the biggest crisis, at the transition from 2015 to 2016, was in Idomeni. About 14,000 migrants were on the border of Macedonia and northern Greece. I was in Idomeni in March 2016 at the time when several thousand people stayed in a wild camp, made by refugees. I spent seven days there, and during that time I saw the misery of people who had been driven away from their homes. Children of all ages and women, predominantly mothers, from teenage years to mature women. Men were at their best, between 20 and 30 alone and with their families.
